Former chairperson of the Women’s Nigerian Professional Football League, Dilichukwu Onyedinma has called on soccer loving Nigerians to commend the players of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, irrespective of how they end up at the forthcoming FIFA women’s world cup in France. African champions Nigeria departed the shores of the country yesterday for Austria, where they will set up a two –week residential camping before flying to France for the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup taking place 7th June – 7th July 2019.
Speaking with www.brila.net, Dilichukwu voiced her confidence in the ability of the Falcons to do well at the tournament, as the players are dedicated, well prepared and know the task ahead of them.
“Our girls are patriotic, they have the experience, they are well prepared, they are strong and they would want to deliver”.
They would surely want to deliver, but the key thing here is that when they finish the work, we should appreciate them, and I strongly believe they would do well”.
“Nigerians we don’t lose, we always win”.
Meanwhile, head Coach Thomas Dennerby said he was edified by the comeback feat of the Falcons against host nation Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the WAFU Cup over the weekend.
Eight home-based players, alongside technical and administrative officials led by Head Coach Thomas Dennerby, traveled aboard Air France flight to Paris, to connect the Austrian city of Bad Tatzmannsdorf, where they will perfect tactics and strategies at the Avita Resort before hitting France on 4th June for the World Cup finals.
