Donald Trump championed America’s bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Mexico and Canada – a successful campaign – as the World governing body voted to have its prestigious football tournament return to North America after 32 years.
Trump lost his re-election in 2021 to Joe Biden, but three years later returned as President-elect to a landslide victory over Kamala Harris on Tuesday.
When the World Cup comes around, the now 78-year-old Chief Executive will be two years into his new mandate, and will have the honor of witnessing the final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Based on its customs, the host Nation’s Leader presents the FIFA World Cup winner with the 6.175 kilograms piece of craft.

A day after Trump’s victory, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino posted a commendatory message on Instagram.
“Congratulations Mr. President!
“We will have a great FIFA World Cup and a great FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America!
