Dessers Suffers Ankle Injury
63
Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers sustained an injury during the Scottish Cup Final clash against Celtic.
The striker was forced to leave the pitch following an ankle injury as Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Celtic at Hampden Park.
Dessers, 29, was seen exiting the stadium wearing a protective boot on his right leg, indicating the severity of his injury.
Speaking with the press, Dessers disclosed: “I got injured in the first half, after around 25 minutes, it’s my ankle.
“I tried to go on because obviously it was the game of the year, the big final at the end of the season, one big push. But I had to come off. I’ll get it assessed in the next few days.”
The forward will undergo scans in the coming week to determine the extent of his injury and the length of time he will be sidelined from action.
Dessers became a big figure for Rangers this season, notably since Clement’s arrival at Ibrox in mid-October, contributing significantly with 22 goals in all competitions as the club’s leading striker.
