Feyenoord manager Arse Slot is furious with match officials for costing his team at least a point in the classico against Ajax Amsterdam on Sunday.
Feyenoord lost the game 3-2, but Slot was adamant that his side was hard done by poor decision from referee who denied Cyriel Dessers a clear penalty.
Dessers was fouled in the box by Lisandro Martínez, but he was not penalized by the referee, despite having clear view of the situation.
Dessers ran to Ajax’ box in the second half, when he dispossessed Martinez, and the defender stopped him with a big blow.
Referee Danny Makkelie had an excellent view of the situation but saw no foul in Martínez’s action. He allowed the game to continue and consult the VAR either.
After the game, Slot expressed his frustration and insisted it was a clear four on Dessers.
“I thought that Makkelie had whistled a very good game. “But I didn’t think this was the intention at all to play the ball,”
“This is a foul and it is within the box, so you could say: this is a penalty.” He said.
Dessers has been in terrific form for Feyenoord in the past few weeks, but his four game scoring streak came to an end against Ajax.
