Dessers ready to rival Osimhen for Super Eagles shirt

New football sensation Cyriel Dessers has responded to critics back in Belgium that his decision to choose Nigeria over the Red Devils is purely down to his love for the African.

Born to a Nigerian mother and a Belgian father in 1994, Cyriel finally caught the attention of the world when he was named Dutch league player of month of November following his incredible form for his club Heracles.

His profile continued to rise when he opening confessed he will gladly represent the three time African Champions Super Eagles ahead of Belgium.

However, his decision to opt for Nigeria generated alot of controversies back in Europe, with some fans attacking him that he’s afraid of competing with the Stars in the Red Devil’s squad.

The 24-year-old dismissed the remarks, before insisting that playing for Nigeria is his dream and he’s ready to fight for a place in Nigeria’s star loaded attack.

”Nigeria is blessed with quality players especially in attack. There’s Victor Osimhen, Samuel Kalu, Samuel Chukwueze, Ahmed Musa and a host of others and that’s some competition.

However I am willing to push for a spot in the team when I hopefully get a call up to the team”, he said.
