Dessers’ Late Goal Rescues Rangers in 1-1 Draw with Dynamo Kyiv

Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers scored a stoppage-time equalizer for Rangers, securing a 1-1 draw against Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Rangers travelled to Poland to face Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv.

The hosts took the lead after 38 minutes when Vladyslav Vanat delivered a dangerous ball across the face of the goal to Andriy Yarmolenko, who struck home with precision.

The Gers improved significantly in the second half, pressing hard for an equalizer.

Dessers came close in the 53rd minute, but Dynamo Kyiv’s goalkeeper, Georgi Bushchan, made an impressive save to deny him.

Rangers persisted and finally got their much-needed goal in stoppage time with Dessers capitalized on a cross from Vaclav Cerny on the right, knocking the ball into the net to ensure a 1-1 finish.

Rangers will face Dynamo Kyiv again next week in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.
