Dessers desperate for Game time at Cremonese

Dessers has not enjoyed a good run in front of goal since making his debut last year, scoring just three times in eighteen games played before Monday’s brace.

His struggle could be linked to the fact that, he’s playing in Italy for the first time in his career and he’ll need time to adjust to life in Serie A.

He’s also had his share of injury which resulted to him losing his place to Felix Ofena-Gyan under new gaffer Davide Ballardini.

The former Feyenoord and Genk striker was an unused substitute in the club’s previous two games.

Dessers, however proved his worth with a well taken brace after coming on as substitute in the 3-2 defeat at the MAPEI Stadium

Although Cremonese didn’t get the required three points, but on the individual level, it was a fantastic outing and good week for the Nigerian forward.

The Forward took his tally to five in nineteen, was included in Serie A team of the week for the first time, and earned praise from Coach Davide Ballardini.

“He was very good, he did well. His assignment is to always play this way; bold, determined and then decisive,” Ballardini told reporters.

Dessers will be hoping the new form can help earn his spot back as a starter, with the season entering its crucial stages.

Cremonese are desperately in need of a hero with the team deep in relegation waters and Dessers could be the man, and he could get his chance this weekend against Fiorentina.
