Calvin Bassey and his Ajax Amsterdam teammates endured another frustrating European night as they lost at home to Liverpool on Wednesday.
Bassey was in action but couldn’t stop Ajax from losing 3-0 to Liverpool at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
The defeat however is inconsequential as they had already been knocked out of the European elite football tournament, following their bad performances.
Bassey, who started the game at left back position had a fair outing making 6 clearances, 2 tackles and won all four of his ground duels.
The 22 year-old also won both of his aerial duels and completed all his dribbles.
Ajax started the tournament with a win against Rangers, but have been ousted from the tournament after a run of four consecutive losses.
Alfred Schreuder’s side will aim to do the double over the Scottish side when they clash for the last Group game in Glasgow.
