Demehin’s Galatasaray Drawn In Tough Champions League Group

Nigerian CB, Oluwatosin Demehin and her Turkish side Galatasaray, are preparing for a daunting test in the 2024/2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The team faces a challenging draw in Group A, where they will go up against eight-time Champions League winners Lyon, two-time champions Wolfsburg, and Serie A winners AS Roma.

Galatasaray booked their place in the group stage after a hard-fought 3-2 aggregate win over Slavia Prague.

Demehin will fly Nigeria’s flag proudly as the only candidate in the tournament, following the early exits of her compatriots Jennifer Echegini (PSG), Chiamaka Nnadozie (Paris FC), and Christy Ucheibe (SL Benfica).

Asisat Oshoala remains the only Nigerian and African player to lift the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy, having done so with FC Barcelona in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Oluwatosin Demehin looks forward to writing her own history and making her debut in the competition.
