Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu has expressed confidence in his team’s preparation ahead of the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship.
Zubairu revealed that he has thoroughly studied their group-stage opponents, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso, and is well-prepared for the challenge.
The Flying Eagles, will begin their campaign against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions at the Stade Municipal in Lomé on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of the tournament opener, Zubairu stated that his team is ready for the challenge.
“We have gathered information on both Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire. We’ve analyzed their strengths and weaknesses with the players and are well aware of any threat they may pose.”
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. local time.
The Flying Eagles, who arrived in Lomé on Tuesday, held their final training session on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the game.
Nigeria is the defending champion of the WAFU B U-20 Championship, adding further pressure to their title defense.
