Super Falcons midfielder, Deborah Abiodun delivered an exceptional performance as Dallas Trinity FC demolished Brooklyn FC 6-0 in a USL match at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.
The hosts started strong, with Nigerian-American forward Chioma Ubagogu opening the scoring in the sixth minute.
Camryn Lancaster doubled the lead early in the second half, finding the net in the 47th minute. Ubagogu then provided two assists, setting up Allie Thornton for a brace in quick succession.
Lexi Massimo made it 5-0 in the 78th minute, and Lucy Shepherd completed the rout with a sixth goal just three minutes from time.
Coach Pauline MacDonald Hails Abiodun and Team Effort

Head coach Pauline MacDonald praised Abiodun and the team’s collective effort, stating:
“I felt relieved with the victory. We know we have potentials in the team, and we found our togetherness in the game. Our game plan, our bravery worked.”
MacDonald also stated that the team is determined to continue pushing for goals even after taking a commanding lead.
“After scoring two goals, we knew that didn’t secure the victory. We wanted the third, which came, and we didn’t want to stop.”
“We will reflect on the game, work harder, and take responsibility.”
Abiodun Thriving at Dallas Trinity
Deborah Abiodun is enjoying her loan spell at USL side, Dallas Trinity FC.
The Super Falcons player, who played for Rivers Angels in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before moving to the University of Pittsburgh, says it is a privilege to play with Dallas Trinity.
“I am fulfilled, I am super excited and super grateful for this opportunity. It’s nothing but a dream come true for me. It has been a long journey coming for me,” she said in a recent interview .
“It’s a great feeling here. Dallas Trinity FC is one big family; I love it here. It’s a big privilege playing here professionally.”
The 21-year-old played a key role in Dallas Trinity’s 6-0 mauling of Brooklyn FC in a league match at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas.
Washington Spirit Contract and International Future
The Washington Spirit announced on January 6, 2025, that they had signed Abiodun to a three-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year.
She will be loaned out to Dallas Trinity FC for more playing time.
Abiodun made the Super Falcons squad for the last two international tournaments—the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the women’s football tournament of Paris 2024 Olympics.
She is expected to make the team ahead of this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
