Chief Operating Officer of Brila Media, Debbie Larry-Izamoje has been appointed to an 8-woman stakeholder’s group to pool resources for Nigerian Women’s Football League within their area of expertise and their network.

The Chairman of the NWFL, Nkechi Obi explained the importance of having the newly inaugurated stakeholders.

“They’re there to help us raise funds, we identified that there are many ways of raising funds, we can meet corporate organisations, give partnership packages, they will scrutinize it and probably run it through their system for three to six months before they will now probably engage with you.

“There is also individual funding but then how do I get through to one thousand, two thousand people on my own? It’s not possible. But through a network of men and women, it is possible.

“Each of them have a network of between 50 to 100 people, so imagine 18 people coming at you with a network of 100 people and chances are that they will give us 300k or 200k, do the math, that will be very close to a hundred million.

“So first and foremost, we are using the He4She as a fund raising platform, and more importantly, to spread the gospel of ‘women’s football rising’.”

During the inauguration ceremony at the NWFL 2023/2024 Annual General Assembly, Debbie Larry-Izamoje, an advocate of women’s football in the country was appointed the deputy lead of the sisterhood campaign, and she shared her desire to see the growth of the women’s sport in the country.
