Heavyweight world champion Daniel Dubois has called out YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul following his controversial
victory over Mike Tyson.
Paul defeated the 58-year-old Tyson by unanimous decision in a high-profile fight at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, leading many boxers to challenge the social media star to a fight.
Dubois, who recently claimed the IBF heavyweight belt with a knockout win over Anthony Joshua in September, is now targeting Paul for his first title defense.
The 26-year-old called out Paul on social media, saying: “Hi Jake, good business on the weekend but how would you feel fighting for the legitimate heavyweight championship of the world? This is Daniel Dubois calling you out. Let’s get it on.”
Paul responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a dismissive remark: “Man been boxing for 12 years, has over 100 fights between amateur and pro and fought on my undercard…hahaha. But f— it … I’m going to have [promoter] Nakisa [Bidarian] talk to [Frank] Warren and get you in line for the throne. Unlike Artur [Beterbiev] at least you have a few thousand fans.”
Paul’s post also referenced another challenge from light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, who recently became undisputed champion by defeating Dmitry Bivol.
Beterbiev also addressed Paul on social media, saying: “After four years it’s time to have serious challenges. Didn’t notice your acceptance or rejection. So what are we gonna do?”
With both Dubois and Beterbiev now calling out Paul, the controversial boxer may have some major decisions to make about his next opponent in the ring.
