Kaizer Chiefs have valued Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi at €700,000; well over the valuation of Chelsea substitute goalies Robert Green and Jamal Blackman.
Akpeyi, who joined the Amakhosi in January from Chippa United, was acquired as an immediate replacement for the injured Itumeleng Khune.
However, the 32 year-old Nigeria international, who has made only three appearances for the 4 times PSL winners, ranks in the top 10 most expensive foreign players currently in the League.
H/T per Soccer Laduma, Akpeyi is the 10th most valuable foreign player in South Africa, valued at R11million [₦282,551,500].
In terms of how it compares to the EPL’s top six sides, Akpeyi’s value will make him Chelsea’s third most expensive goalkeeper behind Kepa Arrizabalaga [€55million] and Willy Caballero [€1million].
Replacing both Blackman [€500k] and Green [€250k], who the lowest valued goalkeepers among the current top six teams in the PL.
