Rangers striker, Cyril Dessers’ dream of playing in the Champions League was shattered after a humbling second-leg defeat to PSV on Wednesday night in Eindhoven.
After a 2-2 draw in the their first-leg playoff round clash at the Ibrox, Rangers had a shot at securing qualification to the group stages of the UCL with a win in the away leg and Dessers was pretty confident of his side’s chances.
However, the night started badly for them in the Netherlands as the host shot to the lead with a brace from Ismael Saibari.
The visitors reduced the deficit after captain, James Tavanier scored four minutes after the hour mark.
Celebrations were short lived as Luuk de Jong restores PSV’s two goal advantage before Joey Veerman extended the lead and the night went from bad to worse when Connor Goldson turned the ball into his own net.
