Following Nigeria’s triumph over Ghana in Friday’s International Friendly, Cyriel Dessers conveyed his happiness at playing a part in the victory and expressed hope that it could mark a turning point in his international career.

Despite missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations, Dessers was reinstated for the February international window.

The forward made a notable return by scoring a crucial penalty, guiding the Super Eagles to a 2-1 triumph over their fierce rivals in Morocco.

“In the first half, I played a really good game. The second half was a bit more challenging, but I believe it was tough for the entire team.” He said.

Despite having made his international debut more than three years ago, Dessers remains uncapped in competitive matches for the three-time African champions, as all his appearances have been in friendly fixtures.

“This return to the team and contributing to an important victory is significant for me.

“I hope this serves as a stepping stone for future opportunities,”Dessers remarked.
