Cyriel Dessers played a crucial role in Rangers’ narrow 1-0 victory over Dundee United in a Scottish Premiership encounter on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward provided the assist for Tom Lawrence’s winning goal just seven minutes into the match.
Dessers’ clever flick set up the Welshman, who displayed impressive footwork before chipping Dundee United goalkeeper Jack Walton to put Rangers ahead early.
Dessers nearly found the back of the net himself shortly before halftime, but Walton denied his effort at the near post.
The assist takes Dessers’ goal contribution to five in his last four matches for the Gers.
So far this season, Dessers has netted three goals in five league appearances for Rangers and five across all competitions.
The striker was substituted in the 65th minute, replaced by Hamza Igamane.
Meanwhile his Nigerian compatriot, Leon Balogun, was named on the bench for Rangers, while Emmanuel Adegboyega featured for Dundee United.
