A brave Crystal Palace side frustrated Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect – but they should have won it in stoppage time only for Luka Milivojevic to see his weak penalty saved by Ederson .

City had most of the better chances, but Palace could even have won the game late on when Andros Townsend blazed an effort way over the crossbar when he should have done better.

The draw meant that table-toppers City are now 14 points ahead of second-placed Chelsea, with Palace moving one point clear of the relegation zone.
