After his big money move to Barcelona this January and the long awaited announcement of his Jersey number, Brazil and Barcelona new signing Philippe Coutinho will hope his newly issued number brings him better fortune than it did for former players like Emmanuel Amunike or Jordi Cruijff.
Amunike, who joined Barcelona in 1996, was initially unveiled with the number 17 but later got re-issued the jersey number 14.
Meanwhile, with the new issue Coutinho will carry the banner of an esteemed company that includes Thierry Henry, Txiki Begiristain and recent owner, Javier Mascherano.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Catalan side from Liverpool for a hefty £142m but is yet to feature for the Blaugrana after he was diagnosed with a minor injury.

But life in Camp Nou will soon get under way for the 25 year-old, perhaps this weekend he’ll get his bow in the home game against Alaves.
