All eyes will be on reigning world champion Oluwatobi Amusan and Ese Brume when they hit the track this Sunday for the final of their respective events at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham.
Amusan, who won gold medal at the World Championships in Eugene, is the favorite for the Women’s 100m hurdle final schedule for today.
The World record holder won her semi-final heat with the time of 12.40s to book a place in the final.
The 25-year-old will now be aiming to successfully defend her Commonwealth Games title won in 2018.
Brume, on her part will compete in the final of the women’s long jump, also slated for today in Birmingham.
She missed the last edition in 2018, but she will be aiming to repeat her golden performance of 2014 in the women’s Long Jump.
Brume is going to the final with a lot of confidence after winning bronze medal in the World Championship at Oregon last month.
Another Nigerian, Ruth Usoro is also in the final of the Women’s Long Jump, which means Team Nigeria can achieve a gold and a silver.
