Head coach of Nigeria’s table tennis contingent, Segun Toriola has confirmed the team’s arrival at the games village in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Toriola also confirmed that the players are in prime condition and ready to compete.

He acknowledged the significant role that the tournament draws will play in determining the team’s chances of securing medals, however, he remains optimistic about their prospects.

“First of all, in table tennis we have to see the draws before we can predict what’s going to happen,” said the Nigerian Coach.

“Normally, our chances are about 50-50. It’s not easy to claim a 100% chance of winning a medal, so I will always tell the truth,” Toriola stated.

He highlighted the readiness of star player Aruna Quadri, noting his hard work and good shape.

“We have chances because Aruna Quadri is in good shape and trains very hard. During our training sessions, we have been practicing intensively, and people have been watching us. We hope the draws will favor us because it’s not easy. We are hoping the draws will be in our favor.”
