Chukwuma narrowly misses podium spot in Women’s 100m final

Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha failed to win a medal in the Women’s 100m final at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth games.

The final held on Wednesday night saw Rosemary Chukwuma (11.17s) and Grace Nwokocha (11.18s) finish 4th and 5th respectively, despite brilliant start to the race.

It was the first time in eight years that Nigeria reached the final in the women’s 100m event at the Commonwealth Games.

Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica won the gold medal in a time of 10.95s. While Julien Alfred (11.01s) and Daryll Neita (11.07s) came in second and third respectively.
