Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze came off the bench to register an assist as AC Milan wrapped up their Serie A campaign with a 2-0 victory over Monza at San Siro.
Chukwueze, who entered the game early in the second half, wasted no time making an impact.
In the 64th minute, the Nigerian delivered a pinpoint corner from the right flank that was headed home by Matteo Gabbia to give Milan the lead.
It was a reminder of the creative spark that made Milan invest in the winger and a timely show of quality amid rumours of a summer exit.
Joao Felix then sealed the win, ensuring the Rossoneri ended their season on a positive note against already-relegated Monza.
Chukwueze’s performance was sharp and purposeful. He completed two of three dribbles, delivered three key passes, and won three of his seven ground duels.
His passing was tidy too, connecting on 18 of 21 attempts adding a layer of efficiency to his flair.
Although he didn’t register a shot on target, his overall display added much-needed bite to Milan’s attack.
Despite flashes of brilliance, Chukwueze’s time in Milan has been underwhelming.
Since joining from Villarreal, he has played under three different managers and struggled to cement a regular starting spot.
This season, he featured in 36 matches across all competitions but only started 11 of them.
His tally—five goals, three assists, and an average of just 38 minutes per game paints the picture of a player who couldn’t quite find his rhythm.
As Milan prepares for changes in the summer transfer window, Chukwueze is expected to be one of the players on the move.
