Chukwueze Credits AC Milan Revival to Coach’s Pep Talk

AC Milan forward Samuel Chukwueze has opened up about the driving force behind his standout performances during the club’s pre-season campaign.
The Nigerian international has been one of the key players for the Rossoneri, impressing fans and critics alike in matches against top teams such as Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan from Spanish side Villarreal last summer, struggled to make an impact in his debut season at the San Siro.
However, this pre-season has seen a marked improvement, with the 25 year-old not only creating numerous scoring opportunities for his teammates but also finding the net himself in a match against Real Madrid.
The forward credits his resurgence to a conversation with Milan’s new manager, Paulo Fonseca.
Speaking to Milan Post, Chukwueze revealed the simple yet powerful message that sparked his revival.
“He only told me one thing: ‘Samuel, I don’t want to see the Chukwueze from last year. I want the one from Villarreal,’” Chukwueze said.
“And I said, ‘Okay, no problem.’ It’s like I’ve been reborn; I’m a new player.”
So far, Chukwueze has registered one goal and two assists in four pre-season games, giving Milan fans a glimpse of the form that made him a standout in La Liga.
With the new season approaching, the winger appears ready to establish himself as a key player for the Rossoneri.
