Samuel Chukwueze has completed his move to AC Milan, joining the Serie A giants for a fee of €27 million.
The 24-year-old Nigerian winger has signed a three-year contract with the Rossoneri, with the option of a further year.
Chukwueze is a highly-rated player who has been on the radar of many top European clubs for some time. He is known for his pace, dribbling skills, and ability to score goals. He will be hoping to add to his tally of 13 goals in 50 appearances for Villarreal in the coming seasons.
Milan are looking to strengthen their squad after winning the Serie A title last season. They have already signed Divock Origi and Junior Messias this summer, and Chukwueze is their third major signing of the window.
The arrival of Chukwueze gives Milan more options in attack. He can play on either wing or as a striker, and he will be hoping to make a big impact in Serie A and the Champions League next season.
Milan’s sporting director, Paolo Maldini, said that Chukwueze is a “very talented player” who will “bring a lot to the team.” He added that the club is “very happy” to have signed him.
Chukwueze is the latest Nigerian player to join AC Milan. The club also has Fikayo Tomori, Tiemoué Bakayoko, and Simon Kjaer in their squad.
He is expected to make his debut for Milan in their Serie A opener against Udinese on August 13.
