Christy Ucheibe Named in Portuguese League Team of the Season

Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe has been named in the 2023/24 Portuguese BPI League Team of the Season.

The 23 year-old joined Benfica in 2020 and had since made 68 appearances and scored four goals.

Ucheibe had an exceptional year, playing an important role in Benfica Feminino’s victorious quadruple winning season.

The team lifted the Campeonato Nacional, Taça de Portugal, Taça da Liga, and Campeonato Nacional II Divisão titles.

The Nigerian also featured in eleven UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, scoring a goal.

She was also named the best player in the Algarve Women’s Trophy after helping Benfica secure a 4-3 win over Sevilla.

Rea ting to the recognition award, Ucheibe posted a message on her social media.

“God is not done with me yet! All glory to God almighty.”
