Chidera Ejuke speaks about Super Eagles triumph over Central African Republic

CSKA forward Chidera Ejuke has explained how the Super Eagles got the better of the stubborn Central African Republic side in their last FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The central African Republic shocked the world when they recorded a 1-0 win over Nigeria in Lagos in the first leg, but The Super Eagles bounced back and got their pound of flesh three days later in Douala.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Rangers’ rock-solid defender Leon Balogun scored the goals that won the game for Nigeria.

Chidera Ejuke came on in the second half and was unlucky to not get his name on the scoresheet.

Explaining how the team got atoned for their mistakes, The CSKA Moscow forward stated that, the whole team played well and followed coach Gernot Rohr’s instructions.

“As a team we collectively we played well and we followed the instructions of the coach. We did what was expected of us and we got the three points. We move on from there.” he said.

Nigeria will continue their qualifying campaign against the Leone Stars of Liberia in Accra, before wrapping up the campaign against Cape Verde at home.

The two matches will hold in November 2021.
