Super Eagles winger, Chidera Ejuke is expected to be sidelined for at least three months due to injury.
The forward suffered a high-grade hamstring injury during Sevilla’s match against Barcelona over the weekend.
Ejuke was substituted late in the first half, with Albert Sambi Lokonga coming on to replace him after he was stretchered off.
Sevilla’s head coach, García Pimienta, confirmed after the game that the Nigerian international had sustained a serious injury.
“Ejuke is injured. He felt a twinge in his hamstring, and we will see how long it keeps him out,” Pimienta told the club’s official website.
The latest reports indicate that he will be out for at least three months following a scan.
The 26-year-old has scored one goal in nine league appearances for the Rojiblancos this season, a performance that earned him a recall to the national team after almost two years.
