Chelsea FC are leading the race to sign Aleksandr Golovin after the Russia international turned down the chance to move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
The West London club have been linked with a swoop to sign the Russia international in the current transfer window to add depth to Maurizio Sarri’s squad ahead of the new season.
Chelsea FC have already signed Napoli’s Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli after Sarri took over the reins of Stamford Bridge outfit last week.
Golovin has been attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs since his eye-catching performances in the World Cup over the past month or so in Russia.
Serie A giants Juventus were thought to be in the race to sign Golovin, while reports suggested that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco submitted a bid to sign the Russian playmaker.
However, Italian reporter Pedrosi has claimed that Chelsea FC are in pole position to sign the attacking midfielder in the 2018 summer transfer window.
“Chelsea and CSKA have agreed terms for a deal to sign Aleksandr Golovin,” Pedrosi wrote on Twitter.
