Chelsea Legend John Terry leaves Aston Villa

Former Chelsea and Aston Villa Captain John Terry have announced on Wednesday that they are to part ways after merely one season in the EFL Championship.

The 37-year-old was hurt at missing out on promotion in the Championship play-off final and was fully prepared to see out the job he had started by spending another season trying to drive Villa back into the Premier League.

Terry played in 36 games this season and even scored on one occasion, which was ironically against Fulham back in October.

Despite the now 37-year old Terry’s form no longer being enough for a squad role at Chelsea, the skipper put in some fantastic performances for Villa which ultimately contributed massively to them reaching the Playoffs.
