In a surprising turn of events, Chelsea are reportedly in discussions with Napoli to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

According to David Ornstein, the deal could involve a swap with Romelu Lukaku moving to Napoli while Osimhen heads to Chelsea.

Lukaku struggled to find form at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, despite joining after the club’s Champions League victory.

However, his performances at Inter Milan before his move and at Roma last season have attracted interest from Napoli.

Any potential move for Lukaku is expected to be a permanent transfer, while discussions about Osimhen focus on a loan deal with an option to buy.

If the move materializes, Lukaku would reunite with former coach Antonio Conte, under whom he scored 47 Serie A goals in 72 games at Inter Milan.

On the other hand, Osimhen could be a valuable addition to Chelsea, offering the clinical finishing they need upfront.

Despite injury setbacks last season, Osimhen scored 17 goals and provided 4 assists in 32 matches.
