Chelsea have decided to cease their pursuit of Nigerian-born forward Samu Omorodion, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid.
Omorodion was as a key target for the club’s summer transfer window but the West London club has faced setbacks in their efforts to secure his signature.
The Premier League club, aiming to bolster their attack under new manager Enzo Maresca, initially launched a £42 million bid to acquire the 21-year-old striker. However, this offer was swiftly rejected by Atletico Madrid, leading to frustration within Chelsea’s camp.
Reports indicate that Chelsea have now decided to focus on alternative targets after their continued attempts to negotiate for Samu Omorodion were met with resistance.
The decision is to avoid any delays in the Blues transfer plans and successfully bolster their team for the coming season.
