Ademiluyi also expressed her excitement “I feel amazing, it’s the best birthday that I could have wished for. I am very excited to play in the Championship because it’s competitive and can help me find my form and grow into the player I want to be.

“Looking at the season the team had previously, they came so close to promotion. So I felt like I wanted to come here and help make that dream come true. I also believe that working under Karen will allow me to progress as a player,” she said on Charlton’s official website.

Background

Ademiluyi is the first player from West Ham United Foundation’s Player Pathway to play for the women’s team at senior level and sign a professional contract, making history in the process.

She was born in Gravesend, Kent, but is of Nigerian descent. She joined West Ham at the age of twelve and has made seventeen appearances for the first team since making her senior debut off the bench against Brighton & Hove Albion in May 2023.

She has yet to represent any nation at the international level, making her eligible to represent the Super Falcons of Nigeria or the Lionesses of England.

Although her preferred national team is unknown at the moment, she would be a valuable addition to Super Falcons.
