The match saw five different scorers and a solid defensive display, ensuring a clean sheet for the squad.
Emmanuel Ogbole opened the scoring in the 31st minute, setting the tone for the dominant performance. Vincent Temitope doubled the lead in the 50th minute before Al-Amin Umar, Anas Yusuf, and Kazeem Ogunleye rounded off the scoring.
Ikorodu City captain Waliu Ojetoye played a crucial role, contributing two assists.
Nigeria will face Ghana in a two-legged playoff for a spot at the 2025 CHAN. The first leg is set to take place on December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium, while the second leg will be played six days later at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
In another test match on the same day, the CHAN Eagles edged Seamoriow FC 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Sunday Megwo shone brightly, scoring a brace with goals in the 19th and 45+2 minutes. Papa Daniel also found the back of the net in the 34th minute, with Adamu Abubakar providing the assist.
The CHAN Eagles are determined to secure qualification this time, having missed out on the 2023 CHAN after being eliminated by Ghana.
The squad’s intense preparations highlight their readiness to reclaim their spot on the continental stage.
