Salisu Yusuf has been dealt a blow ahead of the crucial second group game, against Libya in the African Nations Championship.
The Eagles gaffer we understand is sweating over the fitness of his goalkeeper although the extent of the injury has been downgraded.
It is uncertain if the goalkeeper in question is first choice Ikechukwu Ezenwa, but the situation was bad enough it was described as a “problem”.
‘ We don’t have any Injury worries. Yesterday we had a training session; the last before the game and everybody participated.
‘ The only problem we have is with the goalkeeper but he’s getting better, but the injury is not much,’ team coordinator Patrick Pascal said.
Meanwhile, the team’s training session has focused on mainly final balls, movement inside the box and shooting after the team failed to convert from 24 shots (2 shots on goal) against Rwanda.
‘The coach has been working on the team’s finishing. He’s had a meeting with the players.
‘We lost many chances against Rwanda and the Coach has been working on that. What the players do in training we hope to see them apply in actual game situation.’
