Nigeria defeated host Senegal to retain the FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball title with a 60-55 points win to send a chill across the 15,000 capacity Dakar Arena on Sunday night.
Point Guard Evelyn Akhator scored a game high 14 points and added 9 rebounds; including a clutch defensive rebound, to power D’Tigress to a fourth African title.

The Hughley Otis-led team, who are the highest ranked team in the continent, went on a clean sweep through out the competition, winning 5-5.
