Catastrophic! Former Sports Minister Scores John Enoh’s Tenure

The removal of Sen. John Owan Enoh as Minister of Sports Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been applauded, and of his predecessors, Solomon Dalung, has described Owan’s 433days in office as a “Catastrophe”.

Sen. Enoh was one of 10 Ministers who were moved on by President Tinubu in a Ministerial reshuffle that was announced on Wednesday.

In addition, the Ministry was also scrapped and renamed the National Sports Commission.

The nomenclature change returns the sector to its a 2017 status, but Dalung believes it’s a political suicide for Sports in Nigeria.

Dalung insists Sen. Enoh’s was a “novice” who failed to consult with experts and surrounded himself with greenhorns despite receiving massive Government support.

Meanwhile, the NSC will be headed by former Nigeria Federation Federation chief, Shehu Dikko as its Chairman.

Dikko returns to the Commission where he served as Vice Chairman in 2013. He had also headed the League Management Committee, the NPFL’s governing body.

However, Solomon Dalung believes the NSC; a technocratic division of the Ministry, may not enjoy the Political support that a Ministry wields.
