Cardiff City boss, Erol Bulut forced Jamilu Collins to pull out of Super Eagles’ squad for international friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Collins was initially named in Nigeria’s 25-man squad for the October international window by Jose Peseiro, but the full-back later pulled out of the squad due to fitness concern and was replaced by Chidozie Awaziem.

According to UK publication, Walesonline, Bulut was unhappy with the invitation at the time, and spoke with Peseiro about the player’s situation.

“Maybe I have to talk with the national team manager, because he [Collins] will get injured,” Bulut was quoted as saying.

“Neither side wants that. The club doesn’t need it, the national team doesn’t need it, we have to protect him.”

Collins has been in and out of treatment table since signing for the Bluebirds after his exit from Paderborn.
