Central African Republic gaffer Raoul Savouy has blasted the Super Eagles for underestimating his team.
The central African Republic recorded a shocking 1-0 away win over Nigeria in the African zone for the 2022 World Cup.
Substitute Karl Namnganda, latched on to a long ball which the Super Eagles defense had failed to clear to score in the 91st minute in Lagos.
It was Nigeria’s first loss at home in a World Cup qualifier since October 1981 when they lost 2-0 to Algeria in Lagos.
Speaking at the post-match conference, Savouy said the Super Eagles were arrogant and thought his boys are pushovers.
“Nigeria is one of the best teams in Africa but sometimes in football you don’t take the game seriously because you feel at the beginning you have already won.”
“I feel the Eagles said ‘we are going to take the three points and focus on other things.” He said.
Both teams will meet again on Sunday for the reverse fixture in Douala, Cameroon on Sunday.
