Assistant coach of Nigeria’s senior basketball national team Odaudu Ogoh has stated that D’Tigers will be well tested and benefit from playing high profile international friendly against Canada who has a majority of its players playing in the NBA in the USA.
Ogoh speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said good the team have games to look forward to already ahead of Nigeria’s participation at the FIBA world cup in China.
He emphasized Canada as big test and the Dominican Republic as another world cup bound team that will further open up the team to the feel of what to expects at the world cup in China.
“Both of them are going to be at the world cup too. Canada is a very good team with top players in the NBA.
Dominican Republic I don’t know too well but we will do some work on them but they are also going to be at the world cup.
The ultimate thing is to get quality test through top friendlies before the world cup. So playing people in that caliber will help us a lot.”
Nigeria’s D’Tigers are drawn alongside Argentina, Russia and South Korea in the same group at the FIBA world cup in China.
