Ligue 1 side Marseille are looking to sign a striker in the final hours of this transfer window and it is clear that their priority is currently FC Porto forward Vincent Aboubakar.
As reported by Foot Mercato, Marseille have now made three offers for Cameroon International, Aboubakar with the first two rejected.
The 3rd offer is worth €18m plus a 20% sell-on percentage.
Porto manager Sergio Conceição wants to keep hold of Aboubakar, but Porto are in danger of being in trouble with FFP and are therefore likely going to be forced to sell the man whose contract expires in 2018.
Porto’s asking price is €20m, but the player has made it his priority to join Marseille.
Aboubakar announced his arrival in Europe through the French top tier having evolved at Valenciennes then Lorient between 2010 and 2014. He would then be sold to Porto with whom he still has a year left on his contract.
Mercato365.com reports that Rudi Garcia has already asked Porto about the 25-year-old’s availability.
Marseille, who have already signed Valere Germain from Monaco, are looking for another top striker after Bafetimbi Gomis’ departure for Galatasaray.
Stevan Jovetic, Carlos Bacca, Olivier Giroud, and Aboubakar are all names that have appeared on Garcia’s radar for a top talisman.
The above mentioned media outlet announce now that Championship side Wolves have made contact, as it appears that Jorge Mendes is looking to work some deadline day magic.
