Technical adviser Gernot Rohr says the international friendly match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon is a really good test encounter for the Nigerian National team.
The three-time African champions are currently training in Austria ahead of the international friendly match with rivals Cameroon.
Although the team’s preparation has been overshadowed by the mass withdrawal of players, Gernot Rohr still managed to hold a training session with a reasonable number of players.
“The training was good, we had 18 players & we’ll have 20 players tomorrow. We are trying to have a good team, we have 20 & Cameroon has 26 players for the two games, I hope we don’t have an injury crisis.” He said.
The former Gabon And Nigel Republic handler who is happy with conditions in camp also maintained that, he want to use the game to test new players ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
“The condition is good & the weather was okay. So many players are not here, it’s an opportunity for us to try new players and see new faces. It’s important we prepare well for our World Cup qualifiers and this is the last opportunity to do something before the qualifiers.” He concluded.
