The head coach of the Indomitable lions of Cameroon, Clarence Seedorf has hinted that his side are battle ready for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, as both sides clash in the round of sixteen at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
Cameroon won the competition two years ago, but failed to make it to the World Cup in 2018 after a 4 -1 loss to Nigeria in Uyo dashed their hope.
However, both side are expected to resume rivalry in a mouthwatering clash at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday and Seedorf who’s importing in African Cup of Nations for the first time, is optimistic his side has what it takes to qualify for the quarter final.
“Nigeria is a top team, with lots of quality players. It will be difficult against a good side like this, but we have what it takes to beat them, ”
“Our target is to successfully defend our trophy and we will fight till the end to achieve our objective.”
Both Nigerians and Cameroon finished second in Group B and F, behind Madagascar and Ghana respectively.
The winner of the contest will face either hosts Egypt or South Africa in the quarterfinals.
