Calvin Bassey reveals why he snubbed other Clubs for Ajax

Calvin Bassey said the desire for Champions League football made him join Dutch Champions Ajax Amsterdam.
Ajax signed the 22-year-old Nigerian defender from Scottish side, Rangers, for a fee of €23m including bonuses, that could increase to €26.5m.
The young defender attracted several clubs in England, Spain, Germany and Italy but Ajax won the race to sign him.
“I feel like working hard and we’ll see each other soon in the stadium, I’m happy to arrive here, playing at the great stadium, for a club with history and playing in the Champions League. So it’s no brainer,” Bassey told the club’s official website.
Bassey is the replacement for Lisandro Martinez, who completed his move to Manchester United in a £55m deal earlier this week.
