Serie A side, Cagliari has reignited its pursuit of Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers, as they seek to strengthen their attacking lineup.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Cagliari is now considering Dessers as a potential replacement for their departing striker, Gianluca Lapadula.

Earlier this summer, Dessers was linked with a possible transfer away from Rangers, with Cagliari and Greek club PAOK among the interested parties.

However, it remains unclear whether Rangers would be willing to part with the Nigerian who is currently enjoying a strong spell at Ibrox.

Since joining Rangers from Italian side Cremonese at the start of the 2023/24 season, Dessers has made a significant impact, scoring 23 goals in 56 appearances.

The forward’s recent form has particularly impressed, with back-to-back goals in the last four days, further endearing him to the Rangers supporters.
