As Edo Queens prepare for their first-ever appearance in the CAF Women’s Champions League, coach Moses Aduku believes his team is ready to make history.

Aduku is determined to guide his team to success in their first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League appearance.

Aduku discussed the challenges of qualifying through the WAFU B tournament and the importance of maintaining that winning mentality as they prepare for the Champions League.

“The road was not easy, but hard work pays off. My players were ready to put in the effort. We had intensive training sessions and played friendly matches to shape the team.”

Now focused on the Champions League Aduku said, “We aim for nothing less than lifting the trophy. That is our desire.”

He stressed the importance of preparation, adding, “Just as we succeeded in WAFU B, we plan to take it one game at a time and push hard to bring home the trophy.”

Aduku also discussed the lessons learned from past Nigerian teams in the Champions League, including Bayelsa Queens, who reached the semifinals.

“Lessons can be learned from those who have represented us in the past. We aim to capitalize on those lessons and take our chances,” he said.

On the development of women’s football in Africa Aduku remarked, “Women’s football in Africa is growing tremendously. No team is a pushover anymore.”

“We must ensure that our teams remain disciplined on the field, keeping our shape when we have and lose the ball.”
