CAFCL Qualifiers: We Expect a Tougher Second Leg – Ilechukwu

Following their first-leg victory against Zilimadjou, Enugu Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, warns his team to not to relent in their performance.

Speaking to the players after the game, Fidelis stated that their CAF Champions League journey is far from over as the return leg will be more challenging.

Rangers played an impressive match against the Comoros team but failed to convert major chances, squandering multiple scoring opportunities.

The coach promised to address the issue of wasting chances as it can lead to unnecessary pressure in the second leg.

“We did very well in the first half. The game we planned very well but threw away a lot of chances. When you play football and they don’t score goals, you are going to be under pressure.”

“We planned to win this game and win well this first game so that the next game would be very easy for us. But the game did not go that way. I think the next game is going to be tougher than this.”

“We are so careless around the team box and maybe we are going to work to get it right. The only challenge we have now is Comoros came in the second half. When you play football like that and you have that kind of advantage, that kind of chances, you are going to have enough confidence for the next game.”

“That is what is going to happen but we too are going to prepare very well to make sure that we get a positive result in the next game.”
