Ahead of their second group stage match in the CAF Women’s Champions League, Edo Queens’ head coach Moses Aduku says they are ready for the FC Masar challenge.

The match holds decisional stakes, as a win would secure Edo Queens’ place in the tournament’s semi-finals.

Speaking about FC Masar’s recent performance, Aduku stated, “The other team won their last game against the defending champions, so they are a good side. We respect them, but we are here to do business. Yes, that’s our behaviour, that’s our culture.”

The Egyptian club shocked the competition by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns, the defending champions, with a narrow 1-0 victory.

Aduku, who earlier stated his team will take each match like a final spoke on the importance of remaining focused and to approach the match with renewed strategies.

“The game against South Africa is gone. Our game against the Ethiopian team is gone. This is a fresh game with fresh ideas, fresh techniques and everything.”

“Yes, I know they are going to be very determined because they got it against the South Africans. But, you know, it’s a different ball game,” Aduku explained.

“We are happy to play football. You guys can see they are all happy to play football. So, we go in and do our thing.”

Edo Queens began their campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE).

FC Masar, on the other hand, created an upset overcoming Mamelodi Sundowns.

Aduku concluded speaking on balanced nature of the clash.

“Both teams are in the same situation. You win, they win. So, 90 minutes will decide.”
