The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has backed Super Eagles and Lille striker Victor Osimhen to dominate African football in the coming years.
Osimhen is one of the brightest talents in Africa following his exploits in the French Ligue 1 this season.
In his first season for Lille, Osimhen scored 18 goals made six assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
This led to him being crowned the recipient of the 2020 Marc Vivien Foe Best African Player in Ligue 1 award.
And commenting on Osimhen’s impressive performance, CAF tweeted together with a short video of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner: “Talent from Nigeria!
“Victor Osimhen is sure to entertain all of Africa in the coming years.”
Osimhen has been reported to be on the verge of joining Serie A giants Napoli after just one season in France.
He was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where they finished third.
Also, he was a member of the U-23 Eagles squad that won the 2015 U-23 AFCON under Samson Ssiaisia
At the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile, he won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards and was awarded the CAF Youth Player of the Year award the same year.
