The Confederation of African Football(CAF) has downplayed alleged reports on allegations leveled against two members of the Guinean U-17 national team labeling them as overage players.
Inside sources in CAF revealed to www.brila.net that although there have been several reports on the issue, the football body did its beat by conducting the mandatory MRI tests and players that were ineligible were immediately discharged.
Oficials of the Senegalese Football Federation had accused the players of making new passports which they reduced their ages by one year compared to the documents used at the U16 International Dream Cup held in 2017 in Japan.
Guinea qualified for the finals of the U17 AFCON on Wednesday beating Nigeria 10-9 on penalties and have already qualified for the World Cup.
